Located on the German side of the border of Germany and Austria, the village of Berchtesgaden is home to beautiful peaks and views. It’s easy to understand why Adolf Hitler chose this location for his mountain retreat; but today’s Berchtesgaden possesses the same charm that existed in the 1930s, without all the…fascism.
If you haven’t seen the Alps yet in your lifetime, make them the subject of your next vacation. I won’t pretend I’m an expert on the Alps (the only part of Switzerland I’ve been to as of yet is the airport in Zurich…) but experiencing them in Germany and Austria was, and I’m not exaggerating, a life-changing experience.
In tribute to #tbt, I’m going to throw it back to 2012 and one of my favorite trips ever. During this trip, my friends and I traveled from Germany, through Austria, and ended up in the Czech Republic.
