What a dreary day we woke up to! But the heavy nimbus clouds played a lovely balance for the gorgeous Muizenburg Beach.
We woke up early in the morning, as we had… more sightseeing! But today was a little different, and had a little something extra I was VERY excited about! I’ll get to all the tasty details on that… but first, Table Mountain!
Isn’t this place gorgeous?!
I was so looking forward to hanging out with the penguins. We went to Boulders Beach, where the little guys call their home. While there was a place you could get in the ocean and swim, all the penguins were hanging out here, where they are cordoned off from the humans (and besides, it’s winter! Only crazy Scandinavians were frolicking in the waves.)
We just couldn’t stop taking pictures!
We hiked up to Lion’s Head mountain! It was right next to one of the wonders of the world, Table Mountain. (More on that later.) blah, blah, words, narrative… Look at these pictures!
We left Kruger nice and early to catch our flight to Cape Town. As it has been for our entire trip, we thought we had plenty of time! Halfway to our destination, we encountered a police roadside check. In the states this is a non-event as long as you are not drinking and driving or a part of some human trafficking ring. But we started to feel a little anxious as we followed the police officer’s direction to pull off to the side.
“Where are you visiting from?” she inquired in the South African melodic, sing-song accent.
Normally this is a question that you answer without even a thought. But the reputation of the South Africa police force isn’t the best.
